keep all 5 matchsticks in the form of circle(like star fish) such a way the in the center all the matchstick should touch and place one matchstick vertically to all 5 matchsticks.

It is quite easy to place four coins in such a way that each penny touches every other one. Just place three of them on the table in the form of a triangle so that they touch one another, and then lay the fourth coin on top of this triangle - as shown in the following figure on the far left.

Now add one more coin and try to do the same thing with five coin - again every coin has to touch every other.
