There is a jar in which there are two types of chocolates – 20 dark chocolates and 16 milk chocolates. You perform the following steps:
1) You take out two chocolates.
2) If the two chocolates are of same type, you add a dark chocolate otherwise, you add the a milk chocolate .

Can be either.
.
Assume you only pick the milk chocolates (small chance, but still). Each time you remove 2 milk chocolates and put one dark chocolate back till the jar contains 20 + 16/2 = 28 dark chocolates.
.
Alternatively, let's assume you only pick dark chocolates. Each time you remove 2 dark chocolates and put one dark chocolate back. At some point the jar will contain 16 milk chocolates and 1 dark chocolate. Let's assume you pick a milk and a dark chocolate. You remove both of them and put a milk chocolate back. The jar now contains only milk chocolates.
