# How much fuel had I lost through the hole?

I started out on the journey from the bangalore with a full tank of fuel, 12 litres exactly.

However, the moment I started out, the fuel tank sprung a leak. I travelled at 50 kmph until I ran out of fuel exactly 4 hours later.

I know that the car does 25 km for each litre.

While driving at 50kmph for 4 hours, the person covered 200kms
Considering the fact that his ride offers 25km for each liter, 8 liters would've been consumed for driving those 200kms.

Since he started of with 12 liters in the tank, he lost 4 liters through the hole.

Its 4 liters. He had travelled 50kmph that means 50x4=200kms. The mileage of the car per liter is 25kms. So the car has to run 12x25=300. 300-200=100kms. 100/25=4ltrs.

Last winter, Sarah made two snowballs, one of which had twice as big a diameter as the other one. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate, and the snowballs started to melt soon. The melting only took place at the surface of the balls, so the speed with which the balls melted was proportional to the surface of the (remainder of the) balls.

How much was left of the small snowball, when half of the volume of the large snowball had melted?
