A man is lying dead in a field where no one is around. His head is split open and his legs are disfigured. Near to him, there is an unopened package. No living organism can be found anywhere at the crime scene.

How did he die?

I saw a shirt for \$97.
I borrowed \$50 from mom and \$50 from dad.
I bought the shirt and got \$3 change.
I returned \$1 to mom, and \$1 to dad, and kept \$1 for myself.
Now I have to return \$49 to mom and \$49 to dad.
\$49 + \$49 = \$98 + my \$1 = \$99
Where did the other \$1 go ?

Detective Gretchen looked out of her window at a beautiful California sunset, but she was not enjoying it at all. She was sure that Henry was up to no good again, but she didn't have as clean a case as she needed. She had him under arrest for stealing the jewels from the traveling exhibit at the museum, but since she couldn't find the jewels, she was afraid she was going to have to let him go. One of the guards said Henry was sending a letter to his girlfriend, but there was not much useful information in it.

"Let me see that letter," demanded Gretchen, sure that she would find enough in it to get the jewels. The guard gave her the letter, but warned he was only talking about eating and drinking, and there wasn't much to go on.

The letter read: "Dear Lizzie, I can't wait to be released from here so we can be together again. I was thinking we could go to drink some dessert wine by the water where I recently dropped my waffle on the beach under the tree closest to the parking lot. I will bring myself, if you can bring the ice and anything else we need. Love, Henry"

"What a fool," muttered Gretchen, as she dispatched her team of officers to gather the evidence.

Where did she send them to get the jewels?

Inspector Will attended the call from Mr. Andrews, and entered the closed display room of the magnificent Andrews' house. With a quick sweep of his eyes, Inspector Will noted that the room was round (no corners), to the left there was a waiter, next to him a little beverage table with 5 glasses filled with chopped ice and some bottles, to the center there was a little table with a small open chest (obviously something was missing), to the right there was Mrs. Rovinsky in front of a Renoir, then there was Mr. Romano in front of a Picasso, and then Mr. Lafi, in front of a Rembrandt. Beside Mr. Lafi was Mr. Andrews. No more furniture nor appliances than those were in the room. Mr. Andrews explained:
-Inspector Will, I invited my guests to show them my treasures. First, I showed them the beautiful collection of diamonds that were in the chest and are now missing. And then each one of us went to admire my paintings.
-My guests are standing right where they were at the time I discovered the disappearance.
-As you can see, we all have our backs to the diamonds' table to see the pictures. And everyone was admiring the works so attentively, that no one paid attention to the others. Then I turned back and the diamonds were gone.
