A thief steals a car at 1:30 p.m. and drives it at 40 kmph . The theft is discovered at 2 p.m. and the owner sets off in another car at 50 kmph .
When the owner will overtake the thief ?

In half an hour the distance covered by the thief is 20 km.
Relative speed of the owner is: 50-40 = 10kmpm

Time to overtake him is 20/10 i.e. 2 hrs or 4 PM.
