A tank can be filled by the Tap A in 4 Hrs and by Tap B in 6 Hrs. The same tank can be emptied by the Tap C in 8 Hrs. Now suppose we keep all three taps on then how much time it will take to fill?

=>1/4+1/6-1/8
=>(6+4-3)/24
=>7/24
So the time required will be
3 3/7 hours

Part of tank filled by tap A in 1 hr=1/4
Part of tank filled by tap B in 1 hr=1/6
Part of tank leaked by tap C in 1 hr=1/8
with all the tanks open,Part of tank filled in 1 hr=(1/4)+(1/6)-(1/8)=7/24
time taken by the tank to fill when all the tpas are open=24/7 hrs=3 3/7 hrs=3.4285 hrs
