The owner loses $100 due to theft but then gets the $100 back when the person pays for the $70 item. He has to give the customer $30 in change, so he has lost $30 cash in addition to the $70 item he gave the customer. This works out to a total of $100 lost.

A very simple but confusing puzzle.

A lady buys grocery worth Rs.350 from a shop. (shopkeeper selling the goods with zero profit)
