((36 % 6) * 3) - 9 + 1
(0*3)-9+1
-9+1
=-8(answer)

Note- X%Y will result the value of remainder after dividing X by Y .
X%Y means X Modulo Y .

in this case the remainder after dividing 36 by 6 is zero .

(18 -9) +1
(9+1)
