7*7=49(last digit 9)
9*9=81(last digit 1)

we take last digit of product
1 * 1= 1
2 * 2 =4
4 * 4 =6
5 * 5 =5
7 * 7=9
similarly

   9 * 9 =1

2 x 2 = 4 (4) 4
4 x 4 = 6 (16) 6
5 x 5 = 5 (25) 5
7 x 7 = 9 (49) 9
9 x 9 = 1 (81) 1
