World explorer Stan the Man is on a dangerous adventure in the jungle. Suddenly an extremely poisonous snake bites him. Luckily, he has his medicines with him against this deadly snake poison: two bottles, labeled A and B, containing three pills each. Exactly three times, with an interval of 2 hours, he needs to swallow simultaneously both a pill A and a pill B. In a rush, he takes a pill from bottle A and then shakes a pill from bottle B with it... However, unfortunately two pills B fall from the bottle and they look completely identical to pill A. He cannot tell which pill was A and which two are B pills... Stan is desperate: if he does not take the pills exactly as prescribed, it will be fatal.

It was the first day of our second semester and we were looking for our hostel room numbers allotted, we saw that one of our friend was already allotted the room number last night and he challenged us to guess his new room number. We gave following answers

135, 780, 785 and 732.

He said, “That’s amazing”, “You’ve each guessed exactly one digit correctly and in its right place!”
Now can you guess what is his room number ?

There are 13 caves arranged in a circle. There is a thief hiding in one of the caves. Each day the the thief can move to any one of of the caves that is adjacent to the cave in which he was staying the previous day. And each day, you are allowed to enter any two caves of your choice.

What is the minimum number of days to guarantee in which you can catch the thief?

Note: Thief may or may not move to adjacent cave. You can check any two caves, not necessarily be adjacent. If thief and you exchange your caves, you will surely cross at some point, and you can catch the thief immediately.

100 prisoners in jail are standing in a queue facing in one direction. Each prisoner is wearing a hat of color either black or red. A prisoner can see hats of all prisoners in front of him in the queue, but cannot see his hat and hats of prisoners standing behind him.
The jailer is going to ask color of each prisoner’s hat starting from the last prisoner in queue. If a prisoner tells the correct color, then is saved, otherwise executed. How many prisoners can be saved at most if they are allowed to discuss a strategy before the jailer starts asking colors of their hats.
