let ABCD be of side x units and EFGC be of side y units ,
Then area of blue region will be

X^2 + y^2 + (1/2)*(y)*(x-y) - (1/2)*x*(x+y)

solving we get (1/2)*(x^2 + y^2 )==== (1/2)*(R + S )
